Description

The children woke up early this morning. They looked out the window to see millions of snowflakes drifting down. Everything was covered in a deep blanket of snow. Eagerly, they waited for the announcement, wondering if the snow was deep enough. Then the magic words came — SNOW DAY! Finding their friends already outside, the children play and play. They make snow angels with their dog, Mupps, and help the older neighbours shovel their walks. They play hockey and tag and make a snow fort. With stinging faces and frozen toes, everyone takes a break for hot chocolate, then it's back outside for more fun in the snow. When at last it's time for sleep, the children fall into bed, exhausted. Will tomorrow be a snow day, too? Governor General's Award-nominated illustrator Werner Zimmermann brings a childlike joy to all his books, and captures all the excitement and wonder of a snow day in this heartwarming story.
