Ardith Walkem

Ardith Walkem is a lawyer belonging to the Nlaka'pamux Nation in the interior of British Columbia. Ardith's practice focuses almost exclusively on Aboriginal title and rights. She is interested in public legal education, legislative policy analysis, and hunting and water rights. Ardith also developed and delivered a course on Indigenous political theory at the Institute of Indigenous Government. She has written articles and reports, including "First Nations and Old Growth Values."Ardith earned a bachelor of laws at the University of British Columbia and a bachelor of arts at McGill University in Montreal, Quebec. She is completing her masterâ??s degree in law at the University of British Columbia and focusing on Aboriginal peoples' oral history. Ardith is the co-editor of Box of Treasures or Empty Box? Twenty Years of Section 35 which is published by Theytus.
